PBX Assessment - How to Export your CUCM Configuration

Note: This how-to guide is for the PBX Assessment available at https://assessment.app.goziro.com/ and is not used for ZIRO Platform for Cisco or ZIRO Platform for Microsoft.

With our new PBX Assessment report, you’ll get answers to your most important migration questions but before we can create a report for your company, we’ll need a copy of your CUCM configuration. This can be done via CUCM in three big steps

 Instructions

Let’s start by authenticating to your CUCM Publisher node. From here, follow these steps:

  1. Generate an Export file…

    1. Click on “Bulk Administration” > “Import/Export” > “Export”.

    2. On the new page, enter a name for your TAR file in the field “Tar File Name“. You’ll need to remember that name for later.

    3. Under “Select Items to Export”, check the following elements (You may want to click “Select All” at the top of the page instead, but we do not need all the data to generate your report):

      • Call Routing Data > Call Pickup Group

      • Call Routing Data > Line Group

      • Device Data > Gateway

      • Device Data > Phone Services

      • Device Data > Phone

    4. At the bottom of the page, give your job a name and select “Run Immediately” to start the export now or “Run later” to schedule the report. Refer to Cisco’s documentation for more information on how to schedule a job. We recommend running this report outside of high-usage periods if you clicked “Select All” at step 1-c.

    5. Click on “Submit”.

  2. Check Job Status (optional)…

    1. Give a couple of minutes for the report to start or wait until the report has started if you’ve selected “Run later” at step 1-d.

    2. Click on “Bulk Administration” > “Job Scheduler”.

    3. Use the filter at the top of the window to find the job you created previously and click on “Find”.

    4. Once you’ve found your job, click on the Job ID to open the status page.

    5. From this page, check the “Job Status” in the “Job Details” section and make sure it mentions “Completed”. If the section mentions “Processing”, you may want to wait more and refresh the page until the job has been completed.

    6. Under “Job Results”, make sure all rows under “Job Result Status” mention “Success” and all rows under “Number Of Records Failed” mention “0”.

  3. Download file to your workstation…

    1. Once the job has been completed successfully, click on “Bulk Administration” > “Upload/Download Files”.

    2. Use the filter at the top of the window to find the file name you used at step 1-b previously and click on “Find”.

    3. Select the checkbox next to the file name and click on “Download Selected” to download your CUCM Export TAR file.

You now have a TAR file in your Download folder.
